1. Berlin Airlift Marker

Inscription. Dedicated to the people of Berlin who endured the pain of war, gained hope through the Air-Lift, and experienced the rise and fall of the Berlin wall, culminating in their new found freedom with reunification of East/West Berlin.

And to the elite military forces of the United States, Great Britain, and France in Berlin 1945-1994 who stood tall and made it possible.

Erected 1998 by Berlin U.S. Military Veterans’ Association.

Location. 52° 27.338′ N, 13° 16.36′ E. Marker is in Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Berlin. Memorial can be reached from the intersection of Clayallee and Auf dem Grat, on the right when traveling south. The marker is on the grounds of the Museum of the Western Allies in Berlin (Alliierten Museum). The building was the American Outpost movie theater during the Cold War. Touch for map.
