1. 450th Commemoration De Soto Expedition Plaque
Inscription. The Hernando De Soto expedition is believed to have passed near Cadron en route to points west. Some researchers think the expedition crossed the Arkansas River (River of Cayas) near what is now Dardanelle.
 
Erected 1991 by Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, Faulkner County Historical Society, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Location. 35° 6.285′ N, 92° 32.63′ W. Marker is near Conway, Arkansas, in Faulkner County. Marker can be reached from State Highway 319, 1.6 miles west of Old Morrilton Highway (U.S. 64).
