Regarding Perry Hall. The Mansion remained in private ownership for over two centuries, and by 2001, the vast estate had been whittled down to but four of the original 1,000 acres. That year, the Mansion was sold to Baltimore County for future use as a museum and community center.
Baltimore County completed exterior restoration of the Perry Hall Mansion in 2004. In 2006, the Maryland General Assembly initiated efforts to fund the restoration of the entire interior of the Mansion. The first phase of this effort is scheduled to commence during November 2008, and be completed by spring 2009. More information about this historic property can be obtained from the Friends of Perry Hall Mansion (www.perryhallmansion.org).
