Petoskey in Emmet County, Michigan — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
Perry Hotel
1899
Petoskey was a village just 20 years old when Dr. Norman J. Perry built this hotel in 1899. Resort trade flourished then, and so did the Perry, advertised as the only fireproof hotel in town. Its brick construction, a novelty at the time, contributed to its survival. Today, the Perry stands as more than a relic of the past. It still serves as a landmark of hospitality for visitors, and a vital presence in the heart of Petoskey's historic downtown business district.
This building has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.
