Regarding Birthplace of José Alfredo Jiménez. José Alfredo Jiménez is commonly known in Mexico as the King of Rancheras. He was born in this house on January 19, 1926. After moving to Mexico City and singing at restaurants, he finally caught his break in 1947 when musical producer Andrés Huesca heard him and decided to record his first songs. He became famous quickly and continued to write and record songs at a rapid pace, with some sources ascribing around a thousand titles to him. His most famous songs, including "El Rey", "Un Mundo Raro", "No me amaneces" and "Que te vaya bonito" are still commonly heard in Mexico almost 50 years after his death. In his short lifetime he set the course for the future of ranchera music, with many future artists covering his songs.

English translation:
José Alfredo Jiménez
Because our parents sang it. Because we sing it. Because our children sing it and we hope our grandchildren will too. Because he is the man who knew how to understand the soul of Mexicans. Because he sang to his land, to love and to indifference, to life and sadness. Because he lived with an intensity of passion and died as his people die. Because he is still the King!
