1. The Jacobus Vanderveer House Marker
Inscription.
was constructed circa 1772 with a nineteenth century addition circa 1813. In 1995 the house was listed on the National and New Jersey Registers of Historic Places. The Jacobus Vanderveer House is significant in United States Revolutionary War military history and stands as the only remaining structure associated with the Continental Artillery Encampment in nearby Pluckemin during the winter of 1778-1779.

During the Revolutionary War, this house served as the military headquarters and residence of Gen. Henry Knox and his family during the Continental Army's winter encampment in 1778-79.
