Regarding Birthplace of Ignacio Allende. José Ignacio Allende y Unzaga (b. San Miguel de Allende, 1769 - d. Chihuahua 1811) was one of the leaders and initiators of the independence movement of Mexico. Captain of Spanish militias, he sympathized with the idea of independence. He attended the first secret meetings of the rebellion organized in Querétaro and fought alongside Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in the first stages of the War of Independence. He relieved Hidalgo as the military leader of the insurgents. In Acatita de Baján, Coahuila, he was betrayed and arrested by Ignacio Elizondo, along with Miguel Hidalgo, Abasolo Mariano, Mariano Jiménez and Juan Aldama and taken to the city of Chihuahua where he was tried for insubordination,

Esta ciudad siempre ha reclamado para su ilustre hijo Don Ignacio Allende, la gloria de haber sido el primer promovedor de trabajos efectivo para rializar la Independencia de la Patria: una tradición constante asi lo afirma y lo corroboran, además, pruebas fehacientes. El ínclito anciano Don Miguel Hidalgo dice en su declaración: “que había tenido varias conversaciones con Don Ignacio Allende, acerca de la Independencia, sin otro objeto de su parte, que el de puro discurso….Que nunca pensó entrar en proyecto alguno a diferencia de Don Ignacio Allende que siempre estaba propuesto a hacerlo, viéndose en la propia declaración que no se resolvió á tomar parte en el movimiento revolucionario, sino hasta la segunda vez que fue invitado por Allende. El Congreso General decreto en 24 de Octubre de 1823 que se hiciera una indemnización de los bienes nacionales a los herederos de Don Ignacio Allende expresándose en el articulo 3º que siendo esa gracia concedida especialmente en reconocimiento al merito extraordinario de Don Ignacio Allende, no serviría de ejemplar.”
El Ayuntamiento acordó se erigiera esta inscripción el 16 de Septiembre de 1893.
English translation:
This city has always claimed for its illustrious son, Ignacio Allende, the glory of having been the first promoter of national independence: a constant tradition says so and is corroborated by supporting evidence. The illustrious Miguel Hidalgo says in his statement: "I had several conversations with Ignacio Allende about independence, without any objective on his part and pure conversation...I never thought to seriously consider Independence, unlike Ignacio Allende who was always proposed to act. I was not resolved to take part in the revolutionary movement, until the second time I was invited by Allende.” The General Congress decreed on October 24, 1823 that compensation be given to the heirs of Ignacio Allende as expressed in Article 3 and that be granted in recognition of the extraordinary merit of Ignacio Allende.
The City Council agreed that this inscription be erected on September 16, 1893.

English translation: "The Mexican Army gives testimony to the merits of the hero General Ignacio Allende, in the year of the Nation, September 1960." This marker was placed during the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the War of Independence.
