The aforementioned Japanese-American units from World War II are the most highly decorated units in military history.

They exemplified duty, honor, and country to the utmost while taking on some of the toughest assignments during the war.

The rescue of the Lost Battalion by the 442nd coined the meaning of the phrase "Courage under Fire".

The 100th Infantry battalion earned the tag "Purple Heart Battalion" at Monte Cassino.

The MIS were called the "eyes" and "ears" of every combat command and the secret nature of their work had kept them out of history's spotlight.

Their accomplishments were unparalleled at the time and remained that way today as they will through all of history.

A special thank you to Muneo "Mike" Okusa of the MIS. His kind and humble spirit will never be forgotten by his family and those he served with.
