1. The Lagrange Phalanx Marker
Inscription. The Fourier System of communal living was attempted here between 1843 and 1848. Approximately thirty families lived by rules established in councils of industry, commerce, justice and education. Their "new social order" was a failure.
 
Erected 1966 by Indiana Sesquicentennial Commission. (Marker Number 44.1966.1.)
