Central State University's Fighting Marauder football practice field is proudly dedicated in honor of Mr. Albert Baker. Mr. Baker served as a teacher and coach at Central State from 1947 until 1977, and his outstanding contributions included the building of national and international recognition for the University's athletic program, and positively influencing thousands of students as a dedicated faculty member of the HPER Department. With a career spanning four decades, Mr. Baker's coaching achievements included successful golf teams and outstanding Marauder football teams for the era, and the legacy of athletic and academic excellence left by Albert Baker is hereby recognized with heartfelt appreciation by the entire Central State family.
