Additional Description: Lieutenant Colonel Henry Lee arrived in Ninety Six on June 7, 1781 fresh from his victory over the British at Augusta, Georgia. His reputation as an outstanding officer of cavalry units earned him the nickname "Light Horse Harry." From this area Lee began to conduct a siege of the Stockade Fort.
