Torpedo Mk 14 Mod 5
This torpedo is steam propelled two-speed submarine launched with ability for straight and angle running the maximum range of the Mk 14 torpedo is 9000 yards at 31 knots and 4500 yards at 46 knots. The two propellers are counter rotating the control surfaces on the tail are used for depth and course control the war head consists of over 600 pounds of high explosives.
Torpedos of this type were the primary weapons used by the U.S. Submarine Force during World War II.
