Leo III and Una
Photographer: Sandra Hughes
Taken: March 20, 2010
Caption: Leo III and Una
Additional Description:
(Panthera leo)
David B. Carroll, in loving memory and honor of his father George HH. Carroll (1926-1998), provided a charitable contribution to cover the cost of purchasing Leo III and Una. These African Nubian lions were born in captivity at the Greenville Wildlife Park, a 501 (c) (3) organization, which provides education about and is a refuge and sanctuary for wild animals. The University and the surrounding community owe a deep debt of gratitude to David B. Carroll for gifting funds for Leo III and Una to the UNA Foundation, and for his many other philanthropic contributions.
