Additional Description: This postcard features the homes of two important Hattiesburg businessmen. The home on the left is the McLeod home. John A. McLeod operated mercantile stores in Hattiesburg from 1896 until the mid-1930s and served as president of Citizens Bank from 1902 until 1924. The McLeod House was built in 1897 in the Queen Anne style. The home on the right was the residence of W.S.F. Tatum, mayor of Hattiesburg from 1922 to 1925 and 1929 to 1937 and the owner of Tatum Lumber Company.
