Marker in Quincy, Mass. | Additional Description: President John Adams retired to this farm after leaving office. He died here on July 4, 1826, exactly 50 years after signing the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration, died several hours earlier on the same day.
