Caption: The old McClure Machine Shop of West Middletown, Pennsylvania
Additional Description: This is a Frank France photograph of the Old McClure Machine Shop that was located in West Middletown, Pennsylvania. The McClure Machine Shop was located west of the house and was used by Mr. McClure for manufacturing the threshing machine which Andrew Ralston had patented in 1842. Mr. McClure produced and shipped down river a large number of the machines, but they rotted on the wharf at St. Louis because there was no demand for this product.
