Additional Description:
Thirty-fourth Site on the Historic Sites of Abbeville Tour
Built in 1859-1860, this Gothic Revival church was designed by George Walker of Columbia and is the oldest church building in the city. The Trinity congregation was established in 1842 and originally worshipped in a frame building on this site. The original wooden pews and a massive pipe organ built in 1860 by John Baker remain. On November 7, 2010, the church celebrated its 150th anniversary on the consecration of the current building.
