Additional Description: The covered, wooden bridge was built in 1837. It burned and was then rebuilt in 1851. It partly washed away in 1865 and burned once again in 1918. The present Sixteenth Street Bridge, built in 1923, is now located on the site. Courtesy: The Western Pennsylvania Historical Society
