Additional Description: The original church was built in 1854. The inscription on the bell was the text upon which the Reverend Professor George C. Seibert preached in 1865 when the steeple was added. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again into a lively hope by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." 1 Peter 1:3
