Caption: Possum Trot School
Additional Description: Martha Berry taught Sunday school at the Possum Trot church building, built about 1850 and opened as a school in 1900. Her work with the people at Possum Trot inspired Miss Berry to build schools to help children in the area. During and shortly after World War II, the Possum Trot School was closed. It reopened in 1948 and was permanently closed in 1954. It stands on the Berry College campus.
