Additional Description: Meade's division awaited dawn of the 17th of September 1862 in the low ground beside the Joseph Poffenberger Farm, to the left of this photo on the north side of Mansfield Avenue. The road is a modern addition to allow visitors easy access to the North Woods area of the battle. In 1862, the ground to the right of the road (south) was the North Woods.
