Benoit Claudius Crozet (1789–1864) | Additional Description: Claudius Crozet, a VMI founder, was a French civil engineer who immigrated to the U.S. and, among many other accomplishments, built the then longest railroad tunnel in the country through the Blue Ridge Mountains without the use of dynamite.
