Clench's Tavern Marker | Additional Description: In the background is the intersection of Route 5/State Street and Washington Ave. The enclosed pedestrian bridge that spans Route 5 joins Schenectady County Community College's Elston Hall, the former Hotel Van Curler, with the Center for Science and Technology. SCCC opened the Center for Science and Technology in 1987. The building was donated by the GE Company and formerly housed the WRGB television studio, home to such programs as the Freddie Freihofer Show.
