Joined Hopewell Baptist Church 1877. Served as Deacon and was Clerk for 38 years. Volunteered & served as Seargent Co. F, S.C. Reserves in the Confederate Army. Christian and Soldier. He was Guide, Philosopher, and Friend to the children of M.B. Richardson. His life was one of service to others.
