Setauket Village Green Marker | Additional Description: The Revolutionary War Battle of Setauket took place on August 22, 1777. Continental troops from Connecticut under Brig. Gen. Samuel Holden Parsons attacked a fortified outpost here manned by Loyalists. The Americans failed to drive off the Loyalists, and later returned to Connecticut.
