Additional Description: "No one shall be forgotten" Memorial This memorial has been erected to honor those men and women from Etowah County who made the supreme sacrifice to keep America free and to preserve our heritage. This memorial is to remind us and future generations that the price of liberty is often high. During the celebration of the United states Bi-Centennial year 1976, the idea of erecting a memorial honoring the war dead of Etowah Couty was proposed by historian Joe Barnes.
