Caption: The Regiment's Position in the East Woods
Additional Description: At around 9:30 a.m., the 13th New Jersey occupied a position on the edge of the East Woods. Looking north from Cornfield Avenue near the monument location, the position held by the regiment was near the evergreen trees in the distant center. The regiment would advance as far as the Hagerstown Pike, but fall back to this position around 10:30 a.m.
