Additional Description: The Lieutenant Governor presides from the Charter Oak Chair. This chair was carved from the fallen oak tree which hid the self-governing charter given to the colony by King Charles II in 1662. This chair can be seen on a guided tour of the inside of the Capitol Building of Connecticut.
