Map on The Toothman Farm Marker | Additional Description: [Caption reads] On Sept. 22, 1861, Osceola, Mo., in neighboring St. Clair County, was destroyed by Kansas Unionists, jayhawkers, led by Sen. Jim Lane. The courthouse in Butler was also burned during the war.
