Additional Description: This is a photo of General Arthur MacArthur's grave marker. The inscription is: Lieutenant General Arthur MacArthur, United States Army, June 2, 1845, Sept 5, 1912, Medal of Honor-His beloved wife Mary Pinkney Hardy, May 22, 1852-Sept. 8, 1885. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Section 2, Site 845-A MEDAL OF HONOR CITATION: MacARTHUR, ARTHUR, JR. Rank and organization: First Lieutenant, and Adjutant, 24th Wisconsin Infantry. Place and date: At Missionary Ridge, Tenn., 25 November 1863. Entered service at: Milwaukee, Wis. Birth: Springfield, Mass. Date of issue: 30 June 1890. Citation: Seized the colors of his regiment at a critical moment and planted them on the captured works on the crest of Missionary Ridge.
