Birthplace of Eighth Air Force Vintage Crosley CT-3 | Additional Description: One of only seven known to exist today, this
Crosley CT-3
Pup was a lightweight jeep-type
vehicle capable of being transported by air in
the C-47 Skytrain. Only six
Pups made it overseas
after undergoing tests at Ft. Benning,
Georgia. Underpowered by an anemic 13
horsepower engine, the
Pup proved inadequate
in the field. The Army quickly scrapped the
project, leaving only a few Crosleys to posterity.
