Photographer: Collection of Joe Connor
Caption: FJ&G Railroad Gloversville Station Postcard
Additional Description: An overnight fire on September 19, 1969 completely destroyed the empty passanger station in Gloversville. The station was erected in 1888 at a cost of $25,000, and was purchased ~1966 by the Gloversville Urban Renewal Agency at a cost of $40,000. At one time there had been plans to have the former depot converted into a museum, but by the time of the fire the unused station building had been slated for future demolition.
