Caption: The Altar to Liberty
Additional Description: The Altar to Liberty overlooks the marker. It consists of a statue of Minerva with her arm raised in salute to the Statue of Liberty. For more than 100 years, it was the only monument to the Battle of Long Island (Brooklyn).
