Additional Description: This monument is dedicated to the memory of the gallant men of the 7th Tennessee Cavalry, C.S.A. commanded by Colonel William H. Jackson and to these men of the 7th who fell September 1, 1862, at the Battle of Britton Lane in defense of the Confederacy, the State of Tennessee, their homeland, beliefs and principles.

Erected 1992 by the 7th Tennessee Cavalry, Company D, C.S.A. (Memorial Unit) and the Sons of Confederate Volunteers.
