False Alarm
Photographer: Allen C. Browne
Taken: May 25, 2014
Caption: False Alarm
Additional Description: Cattle running through the camp about 2:00 a.m. on August 23 spooked some of the edgy soldiers, who feared it was the enemy attack. Despite their sleepless night, the troops put on "a good appearance" for President Madison's review that morning.
