The Pest House and Catholic Missionaries | Additional Description: Rev. Louis-Hippolyte Gache, S.J. and the Daughters of Charity during the worst years of the smallpox epidemic, 1862-1864, these missionaries worked with Dr. Terrell, ministering to the spiritual and medical needs of the patients.
