Taken: June 4, 2014
Caption: Placard in front of the Monument
Additional Description:
Restoring the 1868 Civil War Monument was one of the biggest projects that FCC has undertaken. During the 1990’s they sponsored several Civil War Reenactments at Wickham Park to help raise the funds needed save this piece of history. The eagle that you se on top is a replicated piece as the original was in such sad shape. You can view the original eagle which is housed now at the East Hartford Cultural Center.
