The AH-1 Cobra was the first helicopter designed specifically for the ground-attack role. Entering service in 1967, the Huey Cobra quickly established an impressive combat record during the Vietnam War (1964-1975). It's standard armament included 52 wing mounted 2.75 inch rockets, a six-barreled 7.62mm mini-gun (capable of expending up to 6,000 rounds per minute) and a 40mm grenade launcher.
