Caption: Original Sardis Baptist Church
Additional Description: This is a picture of the third meeting house of the Sardis Baptist Church. It was erected in 1847 on the same site as the second meeting house. It was built under the supervision of the following committee: William E. Sapp and B.I. Ellison. It was dedicated by the church pastor Rev. Joseph Pohill in November 1849. It was dismantled in 1939 and the pastorium was built from the material of the old church.
