Pope's View of the Battle | Additional Description: Looking to the north from Pope's Headquarters location. Pope would send forward portions of his command, attacking Confederate General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson's men positioned along an unfinished railroad bed. Pope had become rather fixated on Jackson, and disregarded the approach of General Longstreet's command from the west.
