Additional Description: The infirmary in its 1882 location. The back of the postcard reads: This great hospital covering an entire square of ground, is on Prytania St. one block above Louisiana Ave. The Touro Infirmary and Hebrew Benevolent Society was organized in 1850, Judah Touro donating $40,000, with which the original Infirmary was established in a building elsewhere. The present site was occupied in 1882. See Lipsher card ("Touro Synagogue.") Take Prytania car from Canal St.
