Wolcott
Photographer: Craig Swain
Taken: March 29, 2008
Caption: Wolcott's Battery Location
Additional Description: In the afternoon of the 17th, Wolcott's Battery was among several massed along the Federal lines between the Mumma Farm and the Cornfield. The eight guns of the battery faced toward the Dunkard Church, anticipating renewed attacks from Confederates in that vicinity. The battery was arrayed roughly in the center of the field in the foreground here. This view looks from Cornfield Avenue, to the south towards Smoketown Road. The Battery monument can be seen just to the right of the car on the Smoketown Road.
