Caption: Plaque describing house history.
Additional Description: This building was erected in 1848. Purchased in 1871 by the people of Mobile and presented as a gift to Admiral Raphael Semmes in recognition of his services in the War Between the States. On April 22, 1946 it was presented to the First Baptist Church in memory of Lieutenant Joseph Linyer Bedsole, Jr. Air Corps, U.S. Army, by his parents.
