World War II POW Camp, Fort Jackson, South Carolina
Photographer: Walter Hofmann
Taken: 1945
Caption: World War II POW Camp, Fort Jackson, South Carolina
Additional Description: This drawing was made by Walter Hofmann, a prisoner of war at the camp, during his stay. It belies the marker's assertion that the prisoners were housed in tents. Perhaps it started as a tent camp, and was upgraded to wood buildings as the war progressed.
