Additional Description: Along Hoffman Road to the west of the Cavalry Battlefield is the Trostle Farm House. Somewhere in the vicinity of the house, a gun from Jackson's Battery fired four shots on the morning of July 3, 1863. These four shot were answered by counterfire from Pennington's Federal battery to the east, starting the cavalry fighting on this side of the Gettysburg battlefield.
