Caption: Fortifications from Two Wars
Additional Description: These earthworks were built in 1781 by Cornwallis' British and German troops. In 1861, Confederate forces under Gen. John B. Magruder reinforced the remains of these Revolutionary War fortifications to block Union Gen. George B. McClellan's advance to Richmond.
