Photographer: Brian Scott
Caption: Major General John Reynolds (1820-1863)
Additional Description: Historians disagree as to the manner and details of Reynolds' death. Blame has been laid at a sharpshooter, an infantryman, and friendly fire. The angle of the bullet had shifted depending on who provided the account. Regardless of the details, Reynolds' death effectively determined the location of the Battle of Gettysburg for General Meade.
