Caption:
Jones Avenue | Additional Description: Looking west down the Avenue toward the Old Harrisburg Road. At the time of the battle this area was open ground, with an unobstructed view to the west and southwest. On July 1, 1863, the slight rise here allowed Confederate gunners to sweep Barlow's Knoll and fire into the back side of Seminary Ridge to the west of Gettysburg.
