Additional Description: The church was designed by San Francisco architects Frank Shea and Joseph Lofquist, and was built to resemble the the 15th century Igreja de São João Baptista (Church of St. John the Baptist) in the Azores. It was one of the earliest reinforced concrete buildings in Sacramento.
