Additional Description: A few meters from the marker in the Avenida Independencia cemetery is this recently restored mass grave of the remains of some unknown casualties from the April 1965 conflict. It reads:

Homenaje a los Soldados de la Patria que con su lucha y arrojo, esculpieron la dignidad nacional.
En conmemoración del 50 aniversario de la gesta patriótica del 24 de abril del 1965

English translation: A tribute to the nation’s soldiers whose struggle and determination sculpted our national dignity. In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the patriotic movement of April 24, 1965. Placed by Dr. Reinaldo Pared Perez, Senator of the Republic.
